Grovt gjengitte fingermalerier og lyd skaper en stemning hentet fra sykluser av fortvilelse, hysterisk moro, dumhet, drukkenskap og edruelighet.

Marsh og Clare redigerer feltopptak fra fruktgårdene i Hardanger og henter inspirasjon fra folkeskikk som anerkjenner trusselen av motgang – som Wassailing – hvor et epletre mates med cider for å sikre en god høst. Dyrking av frukt og drikking av cider blir metaforer for fruktbarhet, degenerasjon og søken etter å overskride det jordiske.

Eleanor Clare og Dillan Marsh er kunstnerduo. De transponere og redigere bilder, objekter, tekster, performance, lyd og video fram og tilbake mellom hverandre. I feedback loop mellom hjerne og kropp, dytter tristhet internte væsker ute; eksternte stimuli som lyd utløser minner og emosjoner. Ubevisste impulser påvirker bevisst handling.

Crudely rendered finger paintings and sound create an atmosphere that draws upon cycles of despair, hilarity, stupidity, drunkenness and sobriety.
Marsh and Clare edit field recordings from the orchards of Hardanger and take inspiration from folk customs that acknowledge the threat of hardship – such as Wassailing – where an apple tree is fed with cider to ensure a good harvest. The growing of fruit and drinking of cider become metaphors for fecundity, degradation and the search to transcend the earthly.

Eleanor Clare and Dillan Marsh are an artist duo. They transpose and edit images, objects, texts, performed action, sound and video between each other. In the feedback loop between brain and body, sadness pushes internal liquids outside; external stimuli such as sound triggers memories and emotions. Unconscious impulses influence conscious action.
